The engine roar, rotor blades whipping through the air..all abord - as we gain altitude everything below us seems tiny. Our view of the surrounding mountains from the cabine becomes more panoramic as we climb. After just a few minutes of flight we land on the top of the mountains which seemed so far away before. Everything around us is white and untouched… this is heliski!
The Monte rosa area is well established as a heliski area. Many of the surrounding high mountain passes and summits are well above 4000m. From these passes and peaks many descents drop down into both Switzerland and Italy.
Two thousand meters of descent through some of the wildest glaciers and couloirs in the alps. In addition to the landing zones above 4000m there are quite a few lower heliski areas that offer protected glades in case of wind or bad weather at higher elevation. Some of these areas are within the high valsesia natural park or in the famous otro and val vogna valleys. These are truly uncontaminated and untouched areas.
